An extremely comfortable suite with a large sitting room and bedroom at a very reasonable rate.

    • Older travelers
      9.2

Friendly, accomodating staff and comfortable lounge/bar areas. Excellent Scottish breakfast.

Dinner menu main course could be more extensive.

      comfort,breakfast,selection of whiskies.

Mainly the fact that it was in the area we wanted to visit. The breakfasts were good.

A certain lack of 'the little extras' that make one hotel better than another. eg the napkins were paper which isn't too bad but these were extremely flimsy and split as soon as they were used!

It was centrally located for visiting castles and distilleries. Great access to wildlife and nature. The staff (manager) was great and very accommodating.

Convenient location with a warm and friendly welcome from the owner.

      Decor was a little tired.

We were made to feel welcome straight away, our room was lovely, quiet, the food well presented and cooked. All staff were exceptionally polite

Convenient for access to golf courses and holiday area

Catering was very disappointing and occasionally noisy late at night from guests smoking in street outside front door and immediately below front bedrooms.

The hotel served our purpose of visiting relatives. Breakfast service was good and there was parking in front of the hotel.

Reception at 10pm was from a black girl, who did not initially come from the door she opened and only said "Hi". I had to sign a form immediately on arrival. Later she improved considerably, when she realised we did not appreciate such a greeting and helped take a bag upstairs. The management was not in evidence until payment time in the morning. At breakfast, both eggs were hard fried, the bacon was hard fried and the black pudding tasted strange. The breakfast room looks pre-fab. Hotel decor is dull and needs refurbishment; on arrival, there were drunks outside who were guests.

    • Family with children
      9.0

The friendliness and helpfulness of the owner and her staff. How they went out of their way to meet our needs.

The amount of soap and the changing of wet towels could be improved.

      The day we departed

The room was cold, the heating was on a timer so everything went off at 10pm until 8am the beds were very bad you could feel the springs digging into your back, the whole floor in the room was uneven, the breakfast was small portions and not worth the overpriced charge the dinner menu was poor. For a hotel in the highlands the standard was not good, the staff were too busy to even notice the guests were there

    • Older travelers
      9.6

Friendly personal but not intrusive service. Wifi, but no signal in our room so had to go to guest lounge for that. Good, freshly cooked food

    • Older travelers
      7.4

pleasant enough place in a small town you will probably be passing through. Good food, friendly people and clean room - what more do you need ?

      Surrounding Area

Lack toileteries. Only hand soap in bathroom. Poor attempt at making this a quality hotel. Dated decor. Bar meals poor. There was an perception that this hotel was struggling to maintain standards.
